What do volunteers need to bring, or is there any specific clothing requirement or dress in anything? Shorts, t-shirt? Comfortable clothing. Should probably bring a chair for aid stations, bug spray, water, book maybe. Whatever keeps you comfortable to pass the time in betwwen runners if you are working an aid station. Plan to provide t shirts for all volunteers to wear. (Will need shirt sizes.)
Where should volunteers check in and with whom? Should check in with Karen Tuell or Shannon Burke, at the registration table between 7-7:30am. Registration table will be set up in front of the welcome center. Follow signs for parking.
What time do volunteers need to be there and how long will they need to plan to volunteer? Plan to arrive by 7:30 and the race should be over by 3. Although, as soon as all runners clear your aid station, you can come in and enjoy lunch. If someone needs to leave earlier, we can assign them an early aid station or something that will fit their schedule.
What type of volunteer activities need to be filled? Mainly aid stations, but we may use you at the registration or the finish line. (Registration, refreshments, garbage /litter patrol, race guides/monitors.)
What do I get in return for giving my valuable time? You will get a free t-shirt, free lunch, and a free entry into any other Kyana Running race.
If you are interested, please let us know. We'd love to have you!
If you have any further questions that have not been addressed, please email Karen or Shannon .
We truly appreciate our volunteers- without you our race would greatly suffer! Thank you so much for giving up some of your precious time to spend it with us and our runners.
